Atlas ISBI 3: Can We Adopt a New Mom?

Hey guys! I've played ahead almost to the heir poll and some...big things...have happened (intentionally vague so as not to spoil it) so I need to get my writing caught up! School is still school, but I'm going to try to get some chapters up here across all my various stories. At the end of last chapter, we had a child (Georgia), toddler (Austin), and baby (Olympia). Father and torch holder Roman and incontinent mother Miko are there as well. Our score settled at 0, so let's see if we can't get some points this chapter. Jump in...
Roman: "Want some pancakes, Georgia?"
Georgia: "No. I'm a picky eater now, remember?"
Roman: "Well, that was written about six months ago and played even longer before that, so not really."

If Georgia didn't look like Miko's red-headed mini-me, I would wonder if she got switched at the hospital. While Miko naps, ignoring her screaming baby, Georgia actually tries to calm her. Unfortunately, Georgia can't do what Olympia actually needs, so all she really succeeded in doing was running down her relationship with her sister. She tried, though. More than some people (Miko!!!) can say.

Roman: "Hmm, that's an odd sculpture that just got added to the house."

Yeah, I felt the need for more chaos, so we are adding a kitten the next time I go into CAS.

And that will be now because - HALLELUJAH! - Austin will finally not be an annoying wild toddler who wakes everybody up anymore. Miko is doing a somewhat-convincing job of pretending to be interested in her child.

Here's Austin. He also looks a lot like Miko, but I'm pretty sure he got his dad's mouth (and coloring, obviously). He is seeking to be a Rambunctious Scamp (makes sense after his toddler years) and is also neat. So we have four neat sims in the house now. That's...actually kind of nice.

We exit CAS with a new addition to the family, an unspayed female ragdoll kitten that we named Asia. She is lazy, clever, and friendly. I left her unspayed because I thought the chance of a litter in the future would be ridiculously trying in an ISBI, and that's what I'm attempting to do here - induce madness in myself - so I'm risking it. In real life though, I always get my dogs spayed or neutered and I encourage you to do the same with your pets! There's too many who need a good home for us to be bringing accidental puppies or kittens into the world! /PSA

I was having terrible trouble at this time with an eyebrow-color-switching bug on children at this time. It seems to crop up every so often.

Hard to see in this light, but it got Georgia too. :/

Roman offers his friendship to Asia and becomes her first friend in the family!

This is the final masterpiece Roman needed.

And with Asia asleep at his feet, he maxes the painting skill, completing his Painter Extraordinaire aspiration. His next one will be Bestselling Author.

Then, since life is always on the move for Roman, it's time to age Olympia up.

She's gorgeous! She's also fussy. But she's gorgeous!! Hard to see with the shadow from the glasses, but she got Miko's dark eyes, which makes me happy. As much as I love green eyes and red hair, it is nice to see some diversity. I can't quite tell who she takes after most in facial structure, though.

Her eyebrows changed colors as soon as I left CAS (of course) but let's ignore that in favor of noticing how ridiculously adorable Olympia is!

Asia likes hanging out with Olympia when she's sleeping.

Nanny Gandhi wanted to come hang out, and he ended up helping Georgia with her homework most of the time, so that's ok with me. However, this little visit encouraged him and he has been relentlessly inviting himself over after this. Further on in my play, he's ingratiated himself into the family so thoroughly that he's good friends with everyone (and remember that that's mostly all free will's doing), so if I say no to him coming over on one person's phone, he just moves on to the next. Oh, Nanny Gandhi. You need better taste in friends.

Believe it or not, this romantic picture is the only evidence I got of Miko's second date (which Roman asked her on, so no rule breaking), which completed the first step of her aspiration. I didn't take pics during the date and she wouldn't allow any of Roman's socials in favor of ignoring him to play chess towards the end, so this pic is it for proof.

Miko: "I'm so tired."
So leave the chessboard.
Miko: "But it's so much fun. If only I wasn't so tired."

Sigh.

Miko: "Roman, I'm so tired, but now I'm hungry too because I played chess for five hours straight and I don't know what to do!"
Roman: "Zzz. Dreaming I'm still single."

Their eyebrows may bug the crap out of me, but these kids are adorable. And, at this point, really good friends. Maybe there's hope for Austin after all.

Austin: "So you just wake them up as soon as they go to sleep. Then the next one. Then the next one. It's great fun. And no one can really yell at you because you're just a little baby! Try it!"
Olympia: "Goo?"
Georgia: *radiates silent disapproval*

Just showing off Olympia's cutie-patootie outfit. I don't think she broke the dishwasher, but if she's getting tips from Austin, you never know.

With the parents off at work and the kids at school, Nanny Gandhi catches up on his soaps and Olympia and Asia are left pretty much on their own.

Georgia walked off after she autonomously started her project and Roman offered to help. He kept "helping" even after she was gone, and I figured since it's a glitch, it isn't technically cheating for him to finish the project this way. Plus, she had already brought home her A last chapter. Georgia, on top of all her other good qualities, is a fantastic student who does homework, extra credit, and projects autonomously. My little genius-who's-not-technically-a-genius-by-traits.

Throwing a tantrum just because she can. All her needs are perfectly fine. Gosh, fussy is such a fun trait.

Asia grew up looking both adorable and very poofy. I approve.

Olympia toddled over to imitate Asia, who was amused/alarmed by the whole thing. This picture doesn't do it justice, but it was the cutest thing to see. And thanks, Miko's underwear, for photobombing another pic.

Roman does his best with all three of his kids, but he's spread pretty thin.

Luckily they do have one other parent who occasionally deigns to parent, though she wouldn't go so far as to put pants on for them. Unfortunately, Miko gave Olympia a ham sandwich. Until now, everyone's been a vegetarian except for that time Roman accidentally ate bacon and it ruined his day. Now that Olympia has the taste for flesh though, you know we're in trouble.

Georgia does Austin's project, which he has ignored totally. This boosts her A+ to an A+.

Little Olympia is the only witness to Roman's adult birthday.

Still looking good!

So, Olympia couldn't be interacted with and she wouldn't wake up on her own even though it was day and she had a full sleep bar. She'd turned into our very own sleeping beauty. I ended up having to move the bed in buy mode to pop her out of it.

Austin: "Inspiration strikes!"

Another promotion.

Asia is pretty aloof for a friendly cat, but then again the family members who are out of my control haven't made much of an effort to get to know her.

Perhaps for this reason, she ran away one day, although it was more "sauntering out the front door" than "running."

Austin: "Mom, our kitty that we never interacted with ran away."
Georgia: "We're so sad!"
Miko: "So what? Adopt one of the three pets in this picture. Problem solved."

Austin: "Dad, our kitty that we never interacted with ran away, and also Mom's a clueless jerk."
Georgia: "We're so sad!"
Roman: "I am aware of both of those things. Can't help with the second one, but I did post an alert for Asia. She'll turn up. You don't have to adopt a new pet."
Austin: "Can we adopt a new mom?"

Roman: "I hope you're happy with yourself."
Asia: *quite satisfied actually, thanks for asking*

She returned pretty soon, but she came back absolutely filthy.

Olympia: "Daddy bath kitty bath!"
*sound of yowling and cursing emanate from the bathroom*
Olympia: "Ehehehe."

Olympia: "So look guys, I know Georgia's a prodigy or whatever and Austin sucks slightly less than he used to, but let's face it. I'm a toddler supermodel. You guys don't stand a chance."
Georgia: "Since when did you...?"
Austin: "Why, you little..."

Roman: "Everything okay out here, kids?"
Olympia: "Kitty hehehe! Kitty bath Daddy!"
Austin: "But...!"
Georgia: "Shh. In good time. We're being good, Dad. As the eldest, I'm seeing to that."
Roman: "Well, alright then."
Austin: *side-eyes so hard*

And that's that! Another chapter down, moving inexorably to the big bombshell in a few chapters. Next chapter, what is going on with the kids? Did Austin corrupt Olympia too much? Is there such a thing? Will Georgia achieve the mythical A+++? How did Miko go a whole chapter without passing out or peeing herself? What is this strange 'success' thing that's going on with the score? I don't understand! Check back for more Atlas madness next time and pop by Boolprop to visit with me!
